Embarking on the latest adventure: First subway trip! Was not as crowded as I had imagined it would be.
So we decided to meet the other WLE teachers at "the bar." Got lost again, found this: Really for real, a drive in movie theater! Hancock was playing tonight.
At the Nashville pub. Best cover band ever. A pint cost 50 kuai here. That's the same as my "upscale" Korean meal. Note to self, next time order shui (water.)

Sounds like Saturday nite in Beijing was a hoot. Is shui water and aquarium water the same thing?
LMAO Hey.... when am I suppose to ever run you down on meeboo?
Thinking about what you were saying about meals/drinks in reference to cost, I wonder what their average annual household income looks like over there.

Shui is shui. If you put another word in front of it you can be more specific... i.e. a GLASS of water, TAP water, AQUARIUM water.
The annual salary here is pretty low. As a teacher here, by American standards, I don't get paid much at all. But compared to the general populace I'm very well paid. That's nuts considering that ON TOP of that I don't have to pay rent or utilities.
Good good good......
